Avocet Launches IBD Sales Tool for Simmonsohn Tandems

Manchester-based bike distributor, Avocet, has launched a brand new website to help independent bike dealers sell tandems.

The website launches Avocet’s own brand of tandems, Simmonsohn, into the IBD market and is aimed at giving independent bike dealers the sales tools to sell them. The website (www.simmonsohntandems.com) will act as an intuitive, interactive online brochure that enables dealers to fulfil requests from customers without the space constraints of stocking a tandem.

Simmonsohn is a brand aimed at giving IBDs a wider choice of bikes to sell and is part of Avocet’s growing portfolio of bike ranges.

“There is a growing requirement for tandems, but it is not always easy for independent dealers to stock them due to their size,” an Avocet spokesman said.

“Our solution was to create an online destination that is easy to use and enables dealers to give customers what they want, without the hassle.

“With just a few clicks, they can walk the customer through what type of tandem fits their needs and order it online. Purchases can be made through the website by consumers at a fixed, non-discounted price but dealers can get access to up to 40% off the RRP, giving them great margins and the flexibility to offer added value to the customers.”

Tandem bikes have grown from novelty products into today’s sporting versions that retain all the fun of the original concept. Europe in particular has seen a resurgence in demand for good quality tandems and the Simmonsohn design team are at the cutting edge of this revival, producing the exciting 2017 Range which has a strong Scandinavian influence.

Simmonsohn bikes have a number of stand-out features, including stainless steel small parts and stainless 13 gauge spokes with brass nipples. They come equipped with quality componentry such as puncture-proof Schwalbe tyres and in varying frame designs and sizes to suit all riders.
